A joint event is to be run on the 1st September for potential applicants to the NIHR Fellowship Scheme.
This event, facilitated by the Population Science Theme, Department of Health Sciences and RDS East Midlands, will offer advice and support to potential applicants, focusing particularly on the January round of the NIHR fellowship scheme.
Speakers will include:
- Dawn Biram from the NIHR will make a presentation about the fellowship scheme
- Jackie Campbell will be highlighting what the interview panel is looking for
- Previous applicants will give an insight into their experiences
- RDS EM will outline the free advice and support available to applicants wishing to develop a bid

Round 8 of the NIHR Fellowship Programme opens in October/November, with a deadline in January 2015.
Applications are invited from individuals working in any sector or scientific discipline who propose to undertake people or patient-based clinical and applied health research at an institution based in England.
Five levels of fellowship are available:
- doctoral
- post-doctoral
- career development
- senior
- translational research
Information will also be made available on other fellowships offered by the NIHR, which have deadlines throughout the year.
