The Arts Council England, which champions, develops and invests in artistic and cultural experiences that enrich people’s lives have opened the second round of their Research Grants Programme. This programme aims to deepen knowledge and understanding of the impact of arts and culture and the complex role it plays in our experience as individuals as well as on the fabric of our society.
The central aims of the fund are:
- Furthering our knowledge – deepening our understanding of the impact and benefits of arts and culture
- Increasing capacity – promoting greater collaboration and co-operation between the arts and cultural sector and research partners
- Working in partnership – to build and improve the evidence base around the impact of arts and culture
- Influencing – persuading commissioning authorities to invest in culture to bring positive cultural, social, educational and economic change
The lead applicant must be an art or cultural organisation with significant experience and expertise. They must apply to deliver the activity in partnership with an experienced research partner with suitable professional standards of research quality.
Grants are worth between £50,000 and £200,000.
Expressions of interest are invited between 14 April – 5 May; full applications are due by 5pm, 7 July 2016.
