The Creative Encounters joint initiative supports collaborative artistic and creative projects that bring together arts organisations and artists from Asia and Europe. A key objective is the cultivation of sustainable partnerships between Asian and European arts organisations. Funding of up to 25,000 SGD (around €14,000) is available for projects exploring issues of cultural mobility and community engagement. The theme can be addressed through any artistic discipline (performing/literary/visual arts, film, new media etc) or through cross disciplinary or cross-sectoral approaches. Projects should take place between 1 April and 30 November 2015 and should include result-oriented activities that facilitate collaborations, co-productions, exchanges and dialogues between artists and cultural professionals. Applications must be proposed jointly by a minimum of two partner organisations, with at least one partner each from Asia and Europe. Applications with multiple partners are welcomed. Applicants and project participants should come from ASEM member countries and events should only take place in ASEM countries. The deadline for applications is 15 July 2014 (6pm Singapore time). Shortlisted projects will be announced on 1 November 2014 and shortlisted applicants will be asked to submit a detailed proposal by 30 November 2014. Successful projects will be announced on 15 January 2014.
