The Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) has issued a call for proposals which seek to identify what existing evidence and emerging practice tell us about local, including community, resilience to climate change.
The JRF are looking for proposals that will help them to understand what factors can support community resilience and further understand social vulnerability to climate change:
We want to understand:
- What factors support/undermine community resilience in the face of climate change?
- What are the roles of different stakeholders in developing resilience, considering in particular, communities and local authorities?
- What is the relationship between community resilience
And
- wider institutional and societal resilience?
- the resilience of physical infrastructure in different localities?
- social and spatial vulnerability to climate change?
- What does existing evidence and emerging practice tell us about the current picture of local climate resilience in the UK (considering both local initiatives that might support adaptation and carbon reduction) and how this could be enhanced in different contexts?
Up to £40,000 is available for this call for projects lasting 6-9 months and starting in July 2014. The deadline for proposals is the 11th June 2014
