In its capacity as UK National Contact Point for the European Research Council, the UK Research Office, in partnership with the hosting institutions, is holding three information and proposal writing events for researchers who are interested in applying for the 2014 ERC Starting Grants call.
Each session will provide participants with an in-depth overview of the Starting Grant scheme. Participants should gain a deeper understanding of the proposal format and the key issues relating to planning, writing and costing a proposal. The sessions are aimed at researchers based in, or moving to, the UK who are planning to submit a proposal to the Starting Grants call. Attendance at these events will be free of charge, and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
To be eligible for the 2014 Starting Grant call, the applicant Principal Investigator must have been awarded their PhD between 2 and 7 years prior to the publication date of the call (11 December 2013). This is extendable up to 11.5 years in certain cases. The call deadline is very likely to be on 25 March 2014.
The sessions will be held as follows:
- University of Birmingham, Friday 10 January 2014 – The session will start at 11:00 (with registration from 10:30) and close at 15.00
- University of Edinburgh, Tuesday 14 January 2014 – The session will start at 11:00 (with registration from 10:30) and close at 15.00
