The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) is to celebrate what it calls “high-impact” research with six new awards.
Launched on 12 December, the Celebrating Impact Prize aims to reward ESRC-funded researchers whose work has strongly affected economics or society.
The six prize categories will recognise impact upon business, policy, society, as well as impact overseas. There is also a prize category for an outstanding student researcher.
Each winner will be given £10,000. An overall “impact champion of the year” will receive an additional £10,000 for their department.
The deadline for applications is 14 February 2013, and the prizes will be awarded at a ceremony in London on 14 May.
