I am sure some of you are already following the AHRC’s  blog, ‘Research beyond borders‘, however for those of you who have not yet seen I would recommend having a look. The  ‘Research beyond borders‘ blog helps disseminate wider funding opportunities for international research collaboration specific to UK arts and humanities researchers, not just from the AHRC but from other arts and humanities funders. Their latest blog post highlights the new AHRC international highlight notice which covers China, Brazil, India and Taiwan:

Interested in establishing or expanding networks to China, Brazil, India or Taiwan? The AHRC have just announced a new highlight notice in  the research networking scheme that covers all these countries.

The aim of a highlight notice is to set up a quick and easy opportunity to encourage proposals in particular areas. It has the advantage that there are no new scheme requirements to learn as it utilises an existing scheme;  you just have to address the topic of the highlight notice in the case for support.

Any proposals received  in response to the highlight notice will be assessed to the standard scheme criteria and processes. Whilst this means proposals don’t get priority in assessment; additional funding may be available to supplement the standard budget to fund proposals that fit the highlight notice as long as the quality criteria is fulfilled.

You can submit proposals at any time up to December 2013. More information is available on the research networking page of the AHRC website.
