The Economic and Social Research Council, in collaboration with the Medical Research Council, invites applications to its extending working lives – research consortia awards. These aim to inform strategies and investigate critical issues that will better prepare the UK for an ageing workforce. The awards bring together existing UK academic expertise to understand the determinants of working later in life and the relationship between work, health and wellbeing of older workers.
All applicants normally eligible to apply for ESRC or MRC funding may apply under this call. Partnerships with non-higher education institution partners are strongly encouraged, in particular those with the private sector and other employers. International collaboration is also encouraged.
Consortia may be up to three years in length, and funding of up to £1.5 million at 80 per cent full economic cost is available.
