Applications are invited for small exploratory grants under the Care for the Future Theme. This call is focused around a number of cross-cutting areas which have emerged from recent consultation activities, town meetings and workshops and through discussion with the Theme Advisory Group. Awards will support research at an earlier stage of development than is usually the case under other AHRC schemes, such as the Research Networking scheme. This could include, for example: networking and consultative activities; collaboration /partnership development; and pilot or exploratory activities to experiment with new approaches, investigate the potential of data/archives etc. All applications will be expected to contribute to the core Theme aim to generate new understandings of the relationship between the past and the future, and the challenges and opportunities of the present, through a temporally inflected lens.
Funding of up to £30,000 is available on a full economic costs basis with the AHRC meeting 80% of the FEC. In addition, where appropriate, applications involving an international dimension may request an extra £10,000 to support additional international collaborative activities.
The closing date for applications is 4pm on Thursday 25th October 2012 and all applications should be made via the Je-S system.
Full details of the call can be found in the call document (pdf).
