The Economic and Social Research Council, in collaboration with the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong, invites applications for its collaborative projects programme. The scheme fosters collaborations between social scientists in the UK and Hong Kong.
For this scheme the social sciences include: economics, economic and social history, political science, socio-legal studies, education, psychology, cognitive studies, linguistics, management and business studies, human geography, environmental planning, international studies, area and development studies, social statistics, demography, social science computing, sociology, social anthropology, social policy and social work.
Projects, which may have a maximum duration of three years, must involve integrated collaboration between the UK and Hong Kong partners and must demonstrate distinctive, cross-country aspects, where both sides of the research team provide necessary local expertise.
Proposals are to be submitted by UK partners on behalf of joint teams to the ESRC. The closing date for proposals is 16.00 on 18 October 2012.
