Epilepsy Research UK has issued a call for proposals for their Fellowship and Project Grant schemes:
Fellowships:
Fellowships will support basic, clinical and qualitative scientific research into the causes, treatment and prevention of epilepsy. Research may address all aspects of epilepsy, including basic and social science, clinical management and holistic management of patients. Applicants should be graduates in medicine or an allied science and be resident in the UK. Applicants must be affiliated to an academic institution in the UK; collaboration with overseas institutions is permitted, although the majority of the research must take place in the UK. Fellowships are worth between £200,000 and £250,000 over one to three years. Funds may be used to cover the fellow’s salary, support staff and running costs.
Deadline: 4pm on the 28th September (call repeated once a year)
Project Grants:
Project Grants will support basic, clinical and qualitative scientific research work into the causes, treatment and prevention of epilepsy. Research may address all aspects of epilepsy, including basic and social science, clinical management and holistic management of patients. Applicants should be graduates in medicine or an allied science and resident in the UK. Applicants must be affiliated to an academic institution in the UK; collaboration with overseas institutions is permitted, although the majority of the research must be carried out in the UK. Grants are worth up to £150,000 over a maximum of three years. Applications for smaller sums to support salary costs, to purchase equipment or to cover student fees are also welcome.
