Businesses in the East Midlands can learn more about the funding available to help them harness university expertise in a free event at the University of Lincoln.
The Research and Enterprise team based at the University’s main Brayford Pool campus in central Lincoln is holding a briefing for small and medium-sized enterprises to highlight how they can take advantage of major funding initiatives.
The event, called Funding for Technology and Knowledge Transfer, takes place on Wednesday 19th September 2012, starting at 4.30pm.
Organisations in the East Midlands with up to 250 employees can attend for free. They will be able to get information and advice on funding streams designed to foster closer collaborations between industry and academia.
This includes Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) and the new Partnerships in Knowledge Transfer (PiKT) scheme, which are part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
Various areas of business activity could be eligible for funding, including product and process development, introduction to new technologies, development of new markets, developing new services, business improvement and cost reduction.
Michelle Davis from the Research and Enterprise team at the University of Lincoln said: “Businesses can benefit from access to the University’s expertise and facilities to enhance their skills development, competitiveness and profits. So if any business is thinking about employing new staff or needs to make a strategic change, then this funding could add proven value and opportunity.”
