The EPSRC have identified Towards an Intelligent Information Infrastructure (TI3) which is part of the Information and communication technologies (ICT) key theme, as a priority for future research funding.
A two day workshop will be held on the 3rd and 4th December 2012 which will seek to build up a picture of the research challenges relating to TI3 and identify those which are not currently being addressed by current research programmes and initiatives.
The workshop will provide an opportunity for the community to help develop joint understanding of this priority and the directions research should take to address it. Delegates will be asked to share problems and challenges faced in their own research areas, and consider what these mean for other areas and the priority as a whole.
The EPSRC are encouraging applications from researchers from all stages of their career, with a number of places being made available for early career researchers. Places are limited so please apply as soon as possible.
Outcomes of this workshop will feed into the strategy the ICT Theme takes to address this priority. This will include a call for proposals in the first quarter of 2013, for which up to £5M is available.

Thanks for alterting us to this. I think that LNCD (CERD/Library/ICT) will follow this up.
