JRF Call For Proposals: How Can Employment And Skills Policy Or Practice Reduce Poverty?

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation have launched a call for projects that deliver insights into effective policy and practice solutions through employment and skills that might have an impact on poverty. This project forms part of the much wider programme about the future of the UK labour market.

Bearing in mind the above aim of this phase, the fourth in the overarching future of the UK lavbour market programme, the JRF have identified four themes for this call. These are:

  1. Improving the distribution of original income
  2. Improving income distribution through tax and benefit systems
  3. Looking at different models for employment and skills
  4. Better targeting of initiatives on households in poverty

Up to £10,000 is available for each project (the overall budget for this call is £60,000.) Projects are expected to last for six months starting in October, with completion in March 2013.

The deadline for proposals is Monday 10 September 2012 at 23:59 pm.
