NIHR – Research Design Service Visit Wednesday 16th May

The NIHR Research Design Service for the East Midlands will be visiting the University on Wednesday 16th May to talk about the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) research funding opportunities:

The Research Design Service offers free advice and guidance to researchers to help them develop high quality research proposals for submission to NIHR funding schemes.

The RDS East Midlands is visiting the University on the 16th May to talk about NIHR research funding opportunities. Talks will include advice on targeting your research idea to the most appropriate funding competition, will include essential information on the application and selection process, and will also provide information on common mistakes and pitfalls when applying to the NIHR.  The RDS EM is part of the broader NIHR research infrastructure; it is a multidisciplinary team which can provide both technical/methodological advice [medical statistics, health economics, etc.] as well as more general advice on bid development.

The presentation has been timed to take place in the first week of exams, so it does not clash with teaching to allow as many staff as possible to attend. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about specific schemes which you may have an interest in during the event. If you are interested in applying for NIHR funding either now, or at some point in the future, it is strongly recommended that you attend.

As this invitation will be extended to colleagues within the NHS in the Lincolnshire area, places are limited. To book your place, please email Alison Wilson (awilson@lincoln.ac.uk).

We look forward to seeing you there.

The workshop will take place from 2 – 4 pm in the Senior Common Room, Second Floor of Bridge House.
