Proposals are invited for multi-disciplinary research consortia in conventional power with the aim of reducing carbon emissions and increasing the flexibility, efficiency and sustainability of electricity generation from fossil fuels.

Funding of £2M is available to support one major consortium for up to five years. Industrial support (both cash and in-kind) to match the funds requested from EPSRC is required for any proposal submitted to this call.

There should be a single submission with a single principal investigator.

The call closes at 16:00 on 16 August 2012. Up to £2M is available for this call. The duration of the grant will be for up to five years.

Anyone intending to submit a proposal to this call must register their interest by email by 16 July 2012, including in the email the names of the principal investigator and any co-investigators, any project partners and an approximate value of funds to be requested.
