The ESRC have recently added a new section Talking to government to their Impact Toolkit to help you find out more about getting your research into policy.

The new section includes information on taking research to Westminster, useful advice and contact details for government organisations and guidance on getting social science research into the evidence base in government.

The ESRC toolkit includes a wealth of information on developing an impact strategy, promoting knowledge exchange, public engagement and communicating effectively with your key stakeholders to ensure you can achieve the maximum impact for your work. Even if your research area doesn’t directly relate to policy, or even come under the ESRC remit I would recommend you take a look at the Toolkit as it contains some great hints and tips which can be applied to research in any area.
