The ESRC’s new Knowledge Exchange Opportunities Scheme is now open!
The Knowledge Exchange Opportunities Scheme provides researchers with an opportunity to engage with organisations in the private, public and civil society sector(s) on a social science issue.
The KE Opportunities scheme is designed to promote the application of social science within non-academic communities. For this reason, the target audience of the grant activity must be non-academic stakeholders within the private, public or civil society sectors. Public engagement activity is also within the remit of this scheme.
The scheme offers applicants the opportunity to apply for a flexible ‘package’ of knowledge exchange activities so that they can adopt the most effective route to engagement with research users. Applicants are encouraged to think creatively about the format of the knowledge exchange projects they put forward. The scheme covers potential activities at all stages of the research process, from setting up networks to help inform the first stages of research, to the development of activities designed to apply previous research to policy and practice issues (previously covered by the Follow on Funding Scheme)
Please note that Knowledge Exchange Opportunities is a collaborative scheme and the project must be co-funded with partner(s) from the user community. The amount of co-funding will depend on the partner and will range from 25% for Civil Society partners to 50% for Private and Public Sector Partners.
