Lloyd’s has recently launched its 2011 Science of Risk Research prize. You can enter on their website.
£2,000 will be awarded to the best research paper in each of the five categories (below), plus a £3,000 prize will be given to the best overall paper. The categories selected for research papers in this year’s round are:
- Natural hazards (excluding climate change)
- Climate Change
- Biological and Technological Risks
- Behavioural Risks
- Insurance Operations and Markets (including financial mathematics)
Papers must be peer reviewed and have already been published in a journal. Papers accepted for future publication by a journal are admissible, but you need to obtain permission from the journal to enter the prize and to use the summary for promotional purposes.
