Keeping Up To Date With EU Funding: UKRO

Did you know that as a member of staff at the University of Lincoln you are entitled to a free subscription to the UK Research Office information services?

UKRO is the UK’s leading information and advice service on European Union funding for research and higher education. Established in Brussels in 1984, UKRO is jointly funded by all seven UK Research Councils and receives subscriptions from over 140 research organisations, principally in the UK.

If you have not logged in before, simply create a profile by following the on screen instructions. Make sure you select the categories of information you want to be notified about. I’d recommend selecting at least FP Funding Opportunities and FP News – this will keep you up to date with the latest funding developments in the Framework Programme, which is the EC’s main way of funding collaborative research across Europe.

If you’re interested in tendering opportunities, lifelong learning, health and other funding sources, you can also check the Non-FP boxes. You should select subject areas to ensure you only get information that’s relevant to you.

You’ll receive regular email alerts including funding opportunities as they are announced, partner searches, funding results, and most significantly draft work programmes before they are officially released by the EC to give you extra time to address the call remit and form consortia. UKRO also regularly sends out reports and analysis on the latest EC strategies for Framework funding and beyond, which are useful in horizon-scanning and drafting bids.

If you would like any further support or advice on how to get the most out of UKRO, please contact us.
