The US-UK Fulbright Commission is now accepting applications for the UK Fulbright Awards 2012-13
- AstraZeneca Research Scholarship for research on an aspect of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or Bio-informatics at any accredited US institution. (£20,000 for a minimum of 9 months beginning between 1 August 2012 and 30 April 2013.)
- Deafness Research UK Award for laboratory based research into prevention, diagnosis or treatment of all forms of hearing impairment at any accredited US higher education institution.(£75,000 for a period of 12 months beginning at any point between 1 August 2012 and 30 April 2013.)
- Diabetes UK Award in support of research at any accredited US institution into the clinical or biomedical aspects of diabetes or the social or economic issues faced by people living with diabetes. (£75,000 for a period of 12 months beginning at any point between 1 August 2012 and 30 April 2013.)
- Fight for Sight Research Award for a researcher to pursue laboratory based research into the prevention and treatment of blindness or eye disease at any accredited US higher education institution. (£75,000 for a period of 12 months beginning at any point between 1 August 2012 and 30 April 2013.)
- Fulbright-Robertson Visiting Professor in British History Award offers a British historian the opportunity to teach British History and Western Civilisation at Westminster College (Missouri), a small, selective liberal arts college for one academic year. She/he will also undertake public speaking to non-academic audiences as well as participate in academic conferences in the US and Canada. The modest lecturing requirement will allow time for establishing a collaborative relationship with the Churchill Memorial and Library and for conducting personal research. ($52,500 plus allowances)
- Fulbright Shuman Programme Fellowships to undertake lecturing, study and/or research on European Union affairs, European integration or EU-US relations for periods of three to ten months at a US institution. (€3,000)
- MS Society Award in support of research into the clinical or biomedical aspects of MS or the social or economic conditions of people affected by MS, at any accredited US institution. (£75,00 for a period of 12 months beginning at any point between 1 August 2012 and 30 April 2013.)
- RICS Scholar Award to pursue research in property, land or the built environment, affiliated with any US institution. The appointment will be for a period of 3-10 months beginning at any point between 1 August 2012 and 30 April 2013.(£2,750 per month)
- Scholar Awards for outstanding UK professionals or academics to undertake lecturing, research or a combination of the two in any field, at any accredited US institution for a period of three to ten months. (stipend of £2,750 per month)
- Scottish Studies Scholar Award to an outstanding UK professional or academic to undertake lecturing, carry out research relating to Scottish Studies, and develop institutional links with any accredited US institution. (£11,000 for a one semester project (4-6 months), or £22,000 for a full academic year-long (8-10 months) project.)
