One of the most requested topics for research-related training has been sessions on finding research funding opportunities. Following URO’s popular and successful Working Smarter with the Web workshops, we’re pleased to announce we’re now running monthly practical sessions on Finding Research Funding, starting 23rd September at 12pm in Computing Services Training Room 1.
These hour-long lunchtime workshops will show you how to use online tools – such as ResearchResearch.com – to search for and find funding for research projects. They will address a range of opportunities and funding sources, including advice on eligible costs, partners and other funder requirements.
The sessions are open to both research and administrative staff active in securing funding for research. No prior knowledge is required to attend. Participants will:
- improve awareness of online sources of funding information, such as Researchresearch.com, UKRO, Delicious, etc.
- be able to carry out an advanced funding search using the above tools.
- improve knowledge of types of funding sources and related issues, e.g. eligibility, costs, partners, in order to make informed funding searches
To book a place please use the Staff Training and Development section of the Portal or send an email to training@lincoln.ac.uk. Space is limited to 10 per session, so please book a place as soon as possible. We’ll be repeating the training in October (21st) and November (18th), so if you miss out you can book into a future workshop.
