Do you undertake research in the NHS? Does your research involve contact with NHS patients or service users? Will your research have a direct impact on patient care?

The NHS Research Passport is a new system designed to streamline the approval process for researchers. The main benefit is that researchers now usually require only one set of standard checks even if a study takes place over multiple NHS Trusts. The aim is to strike a better and more efficient balance between robust quality assurance and allowing staff to get on with research faster.

Sheila O’Malley from Trent Comprehensive Local Research Network will be facilitating the session at Lincoln on 11th June at 2.30pm in MC3208 (CCAWI). The session will cover the following topics, with a Q&A session at the end:

• Background to the Research Passport 
• The relationship between the Research Passport and Honorary Research Contracts 
• The process of applying for a Research Passport 
• The roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders involved in the process
