This joint funding scheme from ESRC and the Society for the Advancement of Management Studies is aimed at early to mid-career researchers in Business and Management studies. The purpose is to provide an entry to a permanent academic position in these disciplines:
ESRC Management and Business Development Fellowships
Business Schools or Departments of Management may apply to host up to two fellows. The ESRC will contribute £25,000 per year towards the costs of employment, with the remainder to be contributed by the host institution (i.e. applying university). Although all bids must be made through Je-S, as usual with RC applications, the grants are non-FEC so there are no indirect or estates costs in addition to the £25K.
ESRC provides a good indication of what they’re looking for in the Call Specification (PDF):
A key aspect of the School’s/Department’s proposal is the identification of key areas of research need within the management and business studies discipline. Proposals should provide a justification of why the School/Department is appropriate to host Fellowships in these areas. This may be to fill a gap in subject provision and/or to build on a long term strategic aspiration for research development within the School/Department.
The deadline for applications is 1st June 2009.
I appreciate the labor you have put in developing this blog. Nice and informative.
