I’ve blogged here before about the ESRC Festival of Social Science. This is an annual event celebrating diverse research in the social sciences and stimulating debate between researchers, business, government and members of the public. Earlier in the year the festival went through a review process following the government spending cuts, and after it became clear that it would not be possible to hold it at the usual time in March.
The review has now been completed and following consultation it has been decided that the Festival will be held later this year: 29th October – 5th November. It’s a good opportunity to publicise your research and increase its impact outside of academia, as well as to raise the profile of the University locally, regionally and nationally. The ESRC provides a range of support to those who want to hold an event, including funding of up to £2000, access to a conference organisation firm, and media relations.
